USA Cares 2024 We Salute You Gala
Join USA Cares and celebrate the organization’s annual “We Salute You” Gala on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at The Galt House Louisville. Guests will savor a delectable gourmet dinner, experience ceremonial events steeped in military tradition, participate in silent and live auctions, and enjoy live entertainment.
This year’s program features an inspirational presentation from retired Major General Julie Bentz. Major General Julie Bentz retired from the U.S. Army in 2019 after a successful 33-year career, spanning active, Reserve and National Guard commissioned service. She served as a member of the White House National Security Council Staff and Homeland Security Council, Executive Office of the President, in the Bush (43), Obama, and Trump administrations. Julie’s academic honors include an M.S. in National Security Strategy from the National Defense University, a Ph.D. and M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Missouri, and a B.A. in Radiological Health from Oregon State University. This education and her experiences in Homeland Security before, during and after 9/11 made her invaluable to these three Presidents in a variety of roles at the National Security Council, including Senior Advisor for Emerging Technologies, Deputy Senior Director for Weapons of Mass Destruction, Director of Strategic Capabilities, and Director of Nuclear Defense Policy. Julie currently serves on the Avista Energy Corporation Board of Directors as well as on advisory boards for the Nation’s nuclear weapons laboratories, which enables her to continue doing the important work of keeping America safe from terrorism.
