2022 Lexington Golf Event Remembering CPL Nich Dieruf

Nich was the first in Fayette County to lose his life serving Operation Iraqi Freedom when he was killed on April 8, 2004, just three months after getting married. In an effort to channel their pain and devastation into something positive, Emily, a then 22-year-old Iraqi War widow, and their families established the CPL Nich Dieruf Memorial Fund, which serves as an endowment to USA Cares (a Kentucky-based non-profit that supports post 9/11 veterans and their families).   

This very special golf event benefits USA Cares’ mission to provide post-9/11 military veterans, service members, and their families with emergency financial assistance and post-service skills training. USA Cares’ services improve veterans and their families’ quality of life and reduce potential factors that can contribute to veteran suicide.
