CSP Corporate Fellowship

Senior military talent, ready for your team

USA Cares supports transitioning service members through the Career Skills Program (“CSP”) Corporate Fellowship, offered under a Memorandum of Agreement with the U.S. Army Garrison at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The Career Skills Program is a Department of Defense initiative, so the Fellowship reaches employers and participants across the Kentuckiana region and beyond.

Through the Fellowship, USA Cares helps senior service members bring years of leadership, technical and interpersonal experience into a civilian career. Participants join your organization as unpaid fellows for eight weeks. In most cases, that fellowship becomes a full-time, well-paying career and gives your company a proven leader who is ready on day one.

Why partner with USA Cares

  • 1 Vetted, senior talent. Candidates come to you pre-qualified through the Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) and USA Cares. You interview and choose your fit before the fellowship begins.
  • 2 No salary cost during the fellowship. Fellows work with your team for eight weeks at no cost to your business for their salary.
  • 3 A real look before you hire. Fellows take on a project so your team can evaluate their skills for a permanent role, with no obligation to hire.
  • 4 Possible tax benefits. Employers who hire may be eligible for federal tax credits. Ask us for details.

How the fellowship works

  • 1 Fellows spend eight weeks with your organization in a fellowship status.
  • 2 USA Cares and SFL-TAP submit pre-qualified resumes, and we pair you with candidates who fit your needs.
  • 3 You interview each candidate before accepting them as a fellow.
  • 4 Fellows work four days a week with your team and attend one day of transition training hosted by USA Cares.
  • 5 Your team assigns a project so you can evaluate fit for a permanent position.
  • 6 At the end of eight weeks, the decision is yours. There is no obligation to hire.
