USA Cares Visits DAV National Headquarters in Erlanger, KY

Recently, members of the USA Cares team visited the national headquarters of Disabled American Veterans in Erlanger. As two organizations committed to supporting veterans and military families, the visit lead to collaboration, shared learning and a deeper understanding of how national veteran nonprofits are meeting growing needs.

Strengthening Support for Veterans in Kentucky and Nationwide

DAV, a nonprofit serving disabled veterans, provides critical services to injured and ill veterans nationwide at no cost. Each year, DAV delivers more than 600,000 rides to medical appointments and assists with over 200,000 veterans benefits claims. In addition to transportation and claims assistance, DAV also provides nationwide support programs that assist caregivers and help veterans access employment opportunities. These services play a vital role in helping veterans access the care, compensation and stability they have earned through their service.

For USA Cares, whose mission focuses nationwide on post-9/11 veterans and military families facing financial hardship, the visit showed how interconnected the veteran support system truly is. Transportation access, benefits assistance and financial stability often overlap. Collaboration across organizations helps ensure veterans do not fall through the cracks.

Advancing the Mission to Serve Veterans

Both USA Cares and DAV share a commitment to ensuring veterans and their families have access to the support systems they need. While our programs differ, the mission remains aligned: removing barriers, increasing stability and honoring the service of those who have served.

At USA Cares, we believe strong partnerships strengthen outcomes. By learning from peer organizations and sharing best practices, we can better serve veterans in Kentucky and across the United States.
