USA CARES #GIVE4VETS MILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE GOES LIVE

03 December

Viral Campaign Raising Funds to Fight Against Veteran Suicide Kicks Off on Giving Tuesday

Today on Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2019, the #give4vets Million Dollar Challenge to fight veteran suicide is officially live (YouTube video link: https://youtu.be/qIVUnKifLK0).

According to multiple sources, 22 veterans and service members are lost to suicide each day. Relative to that statistic, in the days between now and Christmas Eve, we will lose 462 veterans and service members to suicide. USA Cares believes any number is too high and is taking a stand by setting a goal to raise $1,000,000 to fight this epidemic. Now through Christmas Eve, USA Cares is asking a million people to give just $1, share their support on social media and challenge friends and family to do the same. Here’s how:

1. Visit www.usacares.org/give4vets to donate $1
2. Share a photo or video of yourself thanking a veteran using the #give4vets hashtag
3. Tag and challenge 5 of your friends to do the same!

PTSD, unemployment, homelessness, and depression are among the leading causes of this epidemic. USA Cares dedicates itself to providing support services and financial aid to improve the quality of life for veterans and their families and reduces the factors that contribute to veteran suicide. Every dollar raised in this challenge will help provide post-9/11 veterans and their families with groceries, fuel, utility support (electricity, gas, and water), relocation expenses related to a new career, auto payments, and rent or mortgage payments (to prevent eviction or foreclosure).

As USA Cares hits donation milestones in this challenge, a variety of competitive events will take place to incentivize the viral nature of this campaign. Corporate supporters of the #give4vets Million Dollar Challenge include Republic Bank, ADP, Delta Dental of Kentucky, and Humana.

By merely giving $1 and sharing the #give4vets link, together, we will provide veterans with the support they need to heal and rebuild their lives. Be a part of the movement to fight against veteran suicide, one dollar at a time. Give. Share. Save lives. #give4vets.
