Capella University

As with conflicts in years past, service members are coming home from deployments looking to earn or finish a degree and begin the next stage of their lives with a sustainable career. Capella University, which has received numerous recognitions for its support of the military - including being honored as one of the Top Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities by Military Advanced Education magazine for four consecutive years – has proven it is commited to helping meet the needs of its students who are affiliated with the military so they can achieve their post-deployment dreams.

That commitment is further demonstrated through a partnership between USA Cares and Capella. A featured nonprofit for Capella’s Inspire Giving campaign, students across the country can designate points as they achieve educational milestones and participate in community building activities that are donated as dollars to USA Cares.

USA Cares began its partnership with Capella in February of 2010, when a team of student, alumni and staff volunteers from Capella helped assemble more than 300 care packages for service members overseas.

A learner who participated in the program stated “I donated to USA Cares today. I love the mission and purpose of this organization. Currently, I have 3 family members (son, brother, and brother-in-law) who are serving either in the Marine Corps or the Navy. I am an Air National Guard veteran. I am grateful to those who help to serve and protect this great country.”
